When I was young, I thought the TMNT action figure for "Slash" was the hotness. I never saw him on the cartoon, so I just assumed, based on his appearance, that he was a ruthless, unpredictable badass. I mean, he looks like the other turtles, but he has a big demented smile, and a black mask!

Apparently in the cartoon he was a bumbling oaf, so here I've portrayed him as he should be.

Primavera Online High School project

I was approached by Primavera Online High School in March to provide a few posters and design a promotional van. This was an incredibly fun project, and I learned a LOT (especially about formatting and providing files that were large enough to be printed HUGE).
Here are a few shots of the promo van.

I'll admit that it was pretty awesome to see my artwork on a van.

Also, I drew a couple posters that are now in 11 shopping malls around Arizona.
Here is a shot of the girl-centric poster, in Chandler Mall.

These are in the directory kiosks, and were printed about 6 feet tall.

Overall it was a really fun project, and everyone at Primavera were great. Hope I get the chance to work with them again.

Scott Bakula Vs. The World

I wanted something fun, eye-catching, and cheap to sell at Emerald City Comic Con, so I made a mini-comic called "Scott Bakula Vs. the World." It's a parody of Scott Pilgrim, but hopefully it's also entertaining if you have no idea what Scott Pilgrim is. I sold out of all the copies I printed, so I'm considering it a mild success. I have absolutely no interest in printing and assembling any more of them, so here is the book in its entirety.

Got quite a few requests to include Santana from Glee in my old Glee drawing, so I busted this out as a warm-up sketch yesterday.

Also, as a bonus, here is Chuck Greene, the hero of the the video game "Dead Rising 2", which is my new favorite game of all time.

Scott Pilgrim Wars

Scott Pilgrim poster, done in the same layout as the original Star Wars poster. We had a school assignment which required us to take a famous image and make changes to it. Gideon has taken the place of Darth Vader. Stephen Stills and Kim Pine are in place of C-3PO and R2-D2, respectively. The moon has 2 holes in it because of the events in Scott Pilgrim Vol. 3. Also, the city in the background is based on Toronto. I freaking love the Scott Pilgrim series. Watercolor on illustration board, 11 by 18 inches.

I tried to make the little sister a little less creepy than they appear in the game.

Plundered Hearts

This is a 4-page story I just finished drawing for writer/friend Jake Bell. It will be appearing in an anthology entitled "Pirate Heart Ninja" that will feature some other talented Arizona creators and be debuting at the Phoenix Comic Con in May.

I had a lot of fun drawing this very clever and funny story. Jake played to some of my strengths by setting the story in high school, plus I busted out the inkwash and indulged some of my cartoonier tendencies.

This is an original character named Brooklyn Dash. She's a singer whose parents sold her soul to a demon before she was born. Thus, she is very successful in life, but the demon just kind of hangs around and bothers her.
